IDAHO'S RETIREE OUTREACH PROGRAM
ABOUT
MISSION AND HISTORY
In early 2013, a group of Idaho National Guard retirees identified the need for a system that could communicate useful information about the organization, benefit updates, and a way to stay in touch with former co-workers. The program would be staffed with retiree volunteers and offer services across the State. On 1 MAR 2013 the efforts of COL (ret) Mike "MA" Smith, in concert with BG John Goodale and CSM Steve Woodall, created the Idaho Army National Guard Retiree Outreach Program. The program has been and continues to be instrumental in enhancing two-way communication for the retiree community. Mike's vision outlined an email notification system for significant events, maintenance of an informative retiree web page, and the hosting of an annual Retiree Appreciation Day. Mike's efforts in the development and implementation of the program have resulted in an effective service organization for our State's retiree community. Today the Retiree Outreach Program continues to grow with the inclusion of Air Guard Retirees. Plans are in the works to also include retirees from all services that called Gowen Field home.
